Sepehri's most important book entitled Hasht Ketab or Eight Books is a compilation of his prior eight books of poetry. Sohrab Sepehri (1928-80) was one of Iran's most prominent poets as well as a talented painter. Sepehri's poetry is especially noted for its pastoral qualities. A desire for a close relationship with, and admiration for, nature pervades much of his work; at the same time, a sense of wonder when viewing seemingly ordinary scenes especially resonates with readers.
